Social Work

The family is an even more vital and critical unit in developing countries than it is in developed ones, and Zambian families have more than their fair share of problems, including Aids, poverty, and the growing pains of a rapidly changing society.

Margaret is studying for a Diploma in Social Work at Copperstone University in Kitwe until December 2010.

Purity is also studying for a Diploma in Social Work at Copperstone University in Kitwe.

Purity lives in Mufulira where she attends the local Church run by Lordsway Ministries. Purity is a talented singer, putting her abilities to use leading worship at the Church, and is passionate about the poor.

As she says: "It is great to be leading our church from the front, but it is out in the streets day to day where the real work is".

Starfish funding will help her to do that real work, as well as to earn a modest but liveable wage herself.
